Haryana government has decided to establish Shree Sheetla Mata Devi Medical College in Kherki Majra village, Gurugram over 39 acres of land to promote medical education.

Stating this in Chandigarh on 18th July, an official spokesman said Chief Minister has approved a proposal in this regard. He said Town and Country Planning department will be the nodal department for this purpose. He said the Shree Sheetla Mata Devi Medical College would be established by Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) in sector 102, Gurugram in association with Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) and Shree Sheetla Mata Devi Shrine Board.

He said while the project funding to be provided by Shree Sheetla Mata Devi Shrine Board would be five per cent, the remaining funding would be made by GMDA and MCG in the ratio of 50:45.
