Haryana gives approval for establishing new Unani College in Akera

Haryana Government has given approval for establishing new Unani College in Akera of district Nuh at a cost of about Rs one crore.
This was informed in the meeting of Governing Body of State AYUSH Society held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, D S Dhesi, here today.
It was informed that the Government of India had approved the State Annual Action Plan of Rs 13.54 crore for State AYUSH Society under National AYUSH Mission for the year 2017-18. As per the resource cap, the State Annual Action Plan 2017-2018 was prepared for Rs 8.71 crore as centre share and Rs 5.80 crore as state share.
The funds would be spent on construction and repair of district hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres, purchase of essential drugs and equipment, provision of training to ASHA workers and ANMs, and establishment of 50-bedded integrated AYUSH Hospital. He said that Ayurveda University would be established in Kurukshetra to further promote Ayurveda in the state. Apart from this, All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy is being established in Panchkula.
