Gujarat CM's trust to hold cancer awareness camps

Shri Pujit Rupani Memorial Trust (SPRMT), run by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in his personal capacity, will start holding cancer awareness camps in Rajkot for the people of Saurashtra region.
Vijay Rupani, who is the chairman of the Trust will inaugurate the camp on April 15, his wife and trustee of SPRMT Anjaliben Rupani said on April 12. "The camp will be held on the second and fourth Saturday of every month with the association of Rotary Club of Rajkot Midtown and Ahmedabad-based Astha Oncology Associates Healthcare Global (HCG) hospital," she said. "During the camps, people of Saurashtra and Kutch regions can consult the state's leading cancer surgeons free of cost," she added. Rajkot mayor Jayman Upadhyay, who is also one of the trustees of SPRMT, said, "The objective of the camp is to create awareness among the people about cancer." To combat cancer, four steps- awareness, precautions, early diagnosis and proper follow-up- are required, which the camp will provide to the patients, he added.
