Govt to table Private Hospital Regulation Bill in spl session: Kumar

Karnataka Health Minister Ramesh Kumar today said that the government would table Private Hospitals Regulation Bill during the Special Session of the Legislative Assembly likely to be held next month.
Speaking to reporters after distribution of Indra Danush vaccination kits to the related officials and staff members at Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) here today, he said he would soon discuss this matter with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The Bill provides for stringent action on private hospitals that charge exorbitant charges for medical treatment. He said the government was providing sufficient medicines to the patients in government Hospitals and they should use the opportunity, rather than going to private hospitals. Health department Principal Secretary Shalini Rajnish, Deputy Commissioner Jiaulla, MLAs Firoj Sait, Ganesh Hukkeri and others were present.
