Government committed to providing best medical facility: Bihar CM

The Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on May 28 said that his government was committed to providing best medical facility to the people of Bihar so that they did not require to go outside the state for treatment.
Laying the foundation for the health department`s 301 projects worth Rs 784 crore through remote, Mr Kumar said that health services in the state had improved tremendously and his government was making concerted efforts to provide all necessary health facilities to the people.
“My government is working with the objective of improving the health services in the state to such a level so that nobody is required to go outside the state for treatment,” he remarked. Mr Kumar said that consistent efforts were being made to improve health services in the state since formation of his government in 2005. He said that district hospitals, sub divisional hospitals, community health centres, primary health centres, additional primary health centres and health sub centres were being upgraded in the state.
He said that primary health centre had been upgraded to 30-bed community health centre. General Nursing and Midwifery Institutes and para medical colleges were being opened in all districts and Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) Institutes were being opened at all sub divisional headquarters. The CM informed that nursing curses were also being introduced in all medical colleges. Teaching of nursing course has already started at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in the state capital, he added.
