A well-known surgeon and his two aides were arrested on December 22 for the murder of his ex-wife who he killed in June but kept alive on social media until now.

The surgeon, Dr. Dharmendra Pratap Singh murdered his wife by pushing her off a cliff after offering her a sedative-laced drink. However, to keep cops away, he regularly kept updating her social media page for 7 months, giving the impression that she was in Assam.

Cops initially held the second husband of the deceased for questioning after her family had filed a case against him, when she went missing in June. During the investigation, the police found that the woman had gone to Nepal with her second husband in June, and while he returned, she stayed back. With call details, police found that Dr. Singh was also in Nepal during the same period. 

On interrogation, the doctor confessed to the murder, claiming the reason to be that is ex-wife was constantly blackmailing him for money and property. He also mentioned that he kept his phone with her, updating her social media account regularly to throw off suspicion.
