FIR against AMRI hospital and its medics after death of 29-month-old girl

An FIR was today filed against AMRI Hospital, Mukundapur, its CEO, and a medic after the death of a 29-month-old girl, Atri Dey, and the aggrieved parents called on the chief minister of West Bengal and sought justice for alleged negligence on the part of the hospital.
 
 
 
 
 
 

The parents, who also alleged of receiving ill treatment by hospital's top official after the death of their only daughter yesterday, filed the FIR with the Jadavpur (east) police station against CEO Jayanti Chatterjee, medic Jayanti Senguta and the hospital for alleged negligence that led to the death of the baby. The latest report said police sought detail reports of the case and CCTV footage to determine if the hospital authorities misbehaved with the parents. The police also sought the assistance of the government medics to determine if the child had any heart problem.
 
The girl admitted on January 15 with fever died on Wednesday morning, the day she was scheduled to be released. It was alleged that the top official of the hospital threatened the parents when the latter charged the hospital with medical negligence leading to the death of their daughter. The aggrieved parents this morning went to Kalighat and called on the chief minister to seek justice.
