The Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner said on May 15 that each and every child in the age group of nine months to 15 years old will be vaccinated under mass MR immunization drive.
 

Launching a program under the ongoing campaign at the local Swami Sant Dass School, the Deputy Commissioner said with the strenuous efforts of all the stakeholders, the district would soon emerge as a leading district to complete the ongoing drive. Till yet, the district has achieved the target of immunizing more than 30 per cent of the children between the age group of nine months and 15 years.

Mr. Sharma said now the health department should further make concerted efforts for completing the ongoing drive to benefit the children. The drive was largely aimed towards achieving the target of healthy and strong Jalandhar. The district administration was making all out efforts to immunize more than five lakh children in this age group during the campaign. The district administration would not settle down until and unless all the children were fully covered under this massive campaign.

Striking an emotional chord with the people, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to every parent that they must come forward to immunize their kids during this ongoing drive. He had even got his daughters immunized during the campaign to make it clear that the tirade on social media against this pro-people campaign was totally misleading. Seeking fulsome support and cooperation of people, he said this campaign could not be possible without their active involvement.
