Doctors to discuss new MBBS curriculum
The Hindu Nov 09, 2018
Now that the body of governors of Medical Council of India (MCI) has released the new MBBS curriculum, medicos in Kerala are planning on having campus discussions to highlight the key changes and additions.
The Kerala Chapter of the United Resident Doctors Association (URDA) is planning a workshop in Kottayam at the end of the month to discuss the highlights of the curriculum. The new curriculum will focus on building patient communication skills among young doctors, giving more importance to attitude and ethics, as well as train students to work in challenging situations and get consent for organ donations from patients' families. The curriculum will also offer electives that students can pick in the first year itself to help increase their clinical exposure.
