Doctors invite wrath of patient`s family members following death

Family members of a snake bite victim indulged in hooliganism and roughed up doctors after his death at primary health centre (PHC) at Korha block in the district late August 5 night.
Additional chief medical officer Dr Ramadhar Singh said in August 5 that infuriated over the death of patient at PHC during treatment, the patient`s family members indulged in hooliganism and roughed up doctors forcing them to take shelter in the toilet of hospital. Soon, police personnel were called to the spot and the situation was brought under control. Doctors and other employees went on strike this morning in protest against the incident.
A delegation of doctors and employees under the leadership of Dr Singh met state health minister Mangal Pandey, who was on a visit to the district demanding adequate security cover to them. The family members of deceased patient accused doctors of not attending him promptly leading to his death.
