Doctor sacked from university after sexual harassment complaints
The Tribune Nov 06, 2018
The Punjab University on November 3 fired Dr. Devinder Preet Singh from Dr. HS Judge Institute of Dental Sciences for inappropriate behaviour and sexual harassment of female students at the institute.
PU Committee Against Sexual Harassment had wanted a major penalty to be imposed. On November 3, the senate approved the punishment, sacking the doctor with the condition that he does not get a job anywhere else either. This is the second case in Punjab University this year. The doctor pleaded guilty and mentioned that he would like to apologise for his actions.
