Doctor, MBBS student held for misbehaving with tourist

Police on September 9 arrested a doctor and a final year MBBS student on charges of misbehaving and sexually harassing a North Indian girl who came to Puducherry as a tourist.
According to police, the girl who came here along with some friends went to a bar attached hotel on September 8 night and joined a dancing team after consuming liquor. The two youths who also consumed liquor joined the dance group and targetted the girl and started sexually harassing her. When the girl screamed, the hotel security came to her rescue. However, the two assaulted him and escaped.
The girl lodged a complaint with the Odeansaalai police. Police identified the culprits with the help of the surveillance camera footage and arrested them. They were identified as Ramkumar (25) a final year MBBS student of a private medical college at Kirumambakkam here and hailing from Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu and his friend Ezhilarasan, also hailing from Ramanathapuram and working as a doctor in a private hospital at Kanyakumari. Both of them were produced before a judge and remanded to judicial custody.
