Doctor appeals to citizens to come forward to participate in blood donation drive

Dr Vinod Shah, renowned doctor in the city, on July 15 appealed citizens to come forward in large number and participate in blood donation drive.


Addressing gathering of doctors on the occasion of blood donation drive, jointly organized by Poona Hospital Research Centre and Jin Kusal Seva Mandal here, appealed people to get voluntarily involved in the noble cause which could save life of lakhs of needy people.
The blood donation drive was organized in the memory of Rakesh Devichand Jain.

He said the blood collected from the camp had helped many patients who were suffering from dreaded disease like dengue, heart and kidney ailments. Speaking on the occasion, Devichand Jain, Trustee of Poona Hospital, said,''Demand and supply of blood were equally important. The efforts to increase the collection of blood are collective responsibility to society so that we can bring happiness to the faces of needy patients.''

Thousands of people participated in blood drive today which include industrialist Sobha Dhariwal, Janhvi Dhariwal, senior Congress leader Abjay Chajed, Journalist Jay Prakash Pandey and several others were present to donate their blood today which got good response.
There is also requirement of blood in Poona Hospital which is one of the reputed hospitals of the city. Collection of blood during the donation drive today will certainly help in treating patients,'' Jain added.
