Dengue cases touches 2,000 in HP

The number of dengue cases is on a rise with the number of people succumbing to the deadly disease mounting to 2,000.
As many as 6,337 samples have been analysed by the health department in the state till now. Bilaspur is the most infested district followed by Solan, state senior health officer said. State Surveillance Officer of Communicable diseases Dr Sonam Negi said that number of dengue cases are rising with 2,000 patients testing positive for dengue in the hill state. He said that during last three days of the 450 patients, 114 tested positive.
Bilaspur, the native place of Union Health Minister, figures among the most epidemic district with as many as 938 dengue cases. Parmanoo in Solan district is another worst hit by the outbreak as 811 were scanned for the viral fever. Number of cases of Dengue is also rising in Mandi district claimed one lives and number of patients rose of 173 , followed by Kangra 30, Sirmaur 17, Shimla 14 , IGMC 11 , Una five and Chamba one. Sirmaur reported 2nd death due to Dengue in the state. Number of Dengue affected patients are increasing with more monsoon rainfall in the state, however state was successfully treating the Dengue case , he added.
