Delhi's GTB hospital gets bone bank
PTI Jun 11, 2018
A bone bank was inaugurated at the GTB Hospital in Dilshad Garden on June 9, the first such facility at any Delhi government-run hospital.
Besides the bank, an orthopaedic emergency facility was also inaugurated by Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, who retweeted pictures of the event shared by an AAP supporter on Twitter. Bone banks collect grafts from cadaver donors. These are used for reconstruction of large defects caused by various ailments. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the city, run by the central government, already has a bone bank.
