Dakshina Kannada ZP President booked for threatening a doctor in the government hospital

A case has been booked against the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat President Meenakshi Shantigodu by the Women’s Police station on the charges of allegedly threatening a doctor in the Government Hospital, Puttur, Karnataka on 3rd July.
According to police, Dr Archana, a Pediatrician, working in the government hospital, had registered a case against the ZP President in connection with obstructing her while discharging duty. The ZP President, Meenakshi visited the hospital recently and inquired about a girl being treated in the hospital and was reportedly upset with the Doctor for not divulging details about the treatment being given to the patient.
The case against the elected representative was registered under the Violence against Medicare Service personnel and damage to property in medicare service Institutions Act 2009.
