The Telengana Chief Minister has announced the removal of the mandatory bond for PG medical students having to work in government hospitals after completion of their degree, and the bill will be introduced in the Legislature Session.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has announced that the condition, to compulsorily serve in government hospitals for one year by the PG Medical students on completion of their course, will be removed. The Chief Minister said that a bill in this regard would be introduced in the forthcoming Legislature Session.
He said this decision will come into force from this year. The Chief Minister instructed officials concerned that the PG medical students who will be completing their degree this year should be registered even without the one-year government hospital service. The condition which is in force now states that all the PG medical students should compulsorily work in a government hospital for one year to get their PG registered.
Students have been demanding for the removal of this condition. Mr Rao after sympathetically examining the demand clarified that since the government is appointing adequate staff in the government hospitals, there is no need to enlist the compulsory services of the PG students, an official statement quoting him said here on 8 March.
