The Manipur CM recently received the most prestigious award for the implementation of CMHT, which was selected as the 'Most efficiently run Public Health Programme by a State Government' in an event held at Pune.

The Indian Express Group selected Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) for the prestigious award in the category of ‘the most efficiently run Public Health Programme by a State Government’ in its Health Summit recently held in Pune. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has said that Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbag (CMHT) has achieved a remarkable achievement within a short period of time. Credit of this achievement goes to common people, who give courage and share knowledge with the Government, he added.

N. Biren made the remark while speaking at a solemn ceremony organised by the State Government to celebrate winning of the award for the best implemented Public Health Programme by CMHT at the Cabinet Hall of Chief Minister’s Secretariat today. L. Jayantakumar handed over the trophy of the award to the Chief Minister in today’s ceremony. The Chief Minister observed that the achievement was possible due to the joint effort of the people and the Government. Health Minister and officials of the Health Department worked tirelessly to accomplish the milestone, he added.

The Chief Minister observed that there is need to maintain sincerity by the Government officials while implementing the scheme. Regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the State on March 16, the Chief Minister clarified that no incomplete project would be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. Praising Narendra Modi as a man of great principle, the Chief Minister informed that the Prime Minister would never inaugurate any unfinished project but dedicate only the projects, which are fully ready for commissioning, to the public.

He further said that the Prime Minister would not only grace the inaugural function of the 105th Indian Science Congress but also attend a public reception at Multi Sports Complex, Luwangshangbam in Imphal East District, where he would also lay the foundation stones of different projects including National Sports University and inaugurate many other projects. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who would arrive at the State capital on March 15, would inaugurate the Integrated Check Post (ICP) and a Power Sub-Station at Moreh and attend a public gathering in Imphal organised as part of the 1st anniversary of the BJP-led State Government.

Informing that the State Government had received Rs. 130 crore as relief assistance for the frequent flash floods that occurred in the State last year, the Chief Minister said that such a huge amount had never been received from the Centre by the State as flood relief in the past. This relief would be distributed through the DCs concerned in a transparent manner at the earliest, he added. It may be mentioned that CMHT is a State sponsored Health Protection Assurance Scheme aimed to reduce out-of pocket expenses on healthcare for poor people. The scheme provides cashless treatment of Rs. 50,000 for primary and secondary ailments and up to Rs. 2 lakh for seven critical ailments every year at empanelled network of hospitals.

The enrolled families/beneficiaries are identified from the Socio-Economic Caste Census/AAY/Widow/Disabled. So far, about 75,000 people (15,000 families) have been enrolled. The scheme is targeted to enrol 2 to 2.5 lakh families. The scheme, which was launched on January 21, 2018, is managed by a Third Party Administrator (TPA) as Implementing Support Agency (ISA) selected through a transparent manner.
