CM keen on improving conditions of govt hospitals in AP: Deputy CM

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Home Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa has said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was keen on improving the conditions of the government hospitals in the state by providing modern equipment and also upgrading the hospitals in the rural areas.
Addressing the World Hepatitis Day celebrations function at the Apollo hospitals on July 28, he said, Hepatitis disease was dangerous and people should take all precautions to keep away from its incidence. Pointing out that several people are falling a prey to the hepatitis disease especially Hepatitis B and C due to negligence and lack of proper awareness on the dangerous affects, he said, it could be affectively treated if diagnosed in early stages.
He cited how some of his friends have lost their lives due to lack of awareness and approaching the doctors after the disease becoming chronic. The Minister has complimented the Apollo Hospital management for its efforts in creating awareness among the people on Hepatitis B and C and conducting free medical tests with service motto.
Dr All Ravikumar Gastroenterologist and Liver specialist said that Hepatitis would be detected only when the infected people get their blood tested and early diagnoses could save the precious lives. `If neglected it could lead to liver cancer and by vaccination people could be immunized from the dreaded disease. The Konaseema area is more prone for the incidence of the disease which was established in the clinical tests .Hence proper awareness is needed for keeping away from infections ‘he added.
Hospital Administrator I.V. Ramana has presided. Medical Superintendent Dr Chatterjee said that Apollo hospital had arranged free medical tests for detection of Hepatitis B and C virus and advised the people to avail the opportunity. Later the Home Minister has not only flagged off but also participated in the 2 km walk from Apollo Hospital to Masjid center and back along with students of nursing colleges and KIET Engineering college besides the Medical and Non Medical staff of the hospital.
