Civil assistant surgeon convicted in ACB case

The Special Judge for SPE and ACB case, Karimnagar has convicted Dr Victor Dinesh, Government Hospital Civil Assistant Surgeon of Luxettipet, Adilabad district and sentenced him to two-years rigorous imprisonment.
He has also been fined of Rs 5,000 for the offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act. A press release from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on June 14 said that in case of default, the judge ordered him to undergo three months simple imprisonment for the offence under section 7 of the PC Act, 1988 and further sentenced him to two years rigorous imprisonment and to pay Rs 5,000 as fine.
In case of default in the payment of fine, Dr Dinesh is to suffer three months simple imprisonment for the offence under section 13(1) (d) r/w 13 (2) of P.C. Act , 1988. Both the sentences are to run concurrently. On October 22, 2010, the ACB officials trapped Dr Dinesh when he demanded and accepted bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant.
