UNI Sep 13, 2017
Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers ML Mandaviya today expressed the Centre's commitment to make inexpensive medicine available so that no person in the country finds himself or herself helpless when afflicted.
“Jan Aushadi stores are meeting this requirement. Normally 600-1,000 types of medication are available at such outlets and 150 of these cost only 15 per cent of corresponding figures in the open market. Private persons have opened 2,200 such outlets in the country. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has evinced interest in the scheme. An endeavour is necessary in the direction of attracting the populace to generic drugs,” a Bharatiya Janata Party statement quoted the visiting politician as saying during an interaction with workers at the BJP's Madhya Pradesh headquarters.
