Central health team on 2-day visit of Gujarat

On the request of the Gujarat Chief Minister, a four-member central team of senior health officials will arrive on a two-day visit of Ahmedabad and Surat on July 16 to review the COVID-19 situation and guide the state government.

The Gujarat Chief Minister had sought the central government's help to tackle the coronavirus outbreak. Even though the spread of COVID-19 in the hotspot Ahmedabad had been contained, there has been a big rise in the number of cases across the state. The situation is grim in Surat as well.
The central team comprises the NITI Ayog member, Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Balram Bhargava, Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Randeep Guleria and the Additional Secretary in the Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
