Attappadi Tribals to get Comprehensive Healthcare Scheme : Minister

The State Co-operative Department has announced a Comprehensive Healthcare Scheme with the assistance of Perinthalmanna EMS Hospital for the tribes of Attappadi.
The State Government has approved the scheme under the title of 'Pilot Project' as it is one of the lead off projects of the kind, State Minister for Co-operation, Tourism and Devaswom Mr Kadakampally Surendran said. Under the comprehensive healthcare scheme, around 30,000 tribal people shall be benefitted with extensive health treatment from EMS Hospital. The treatment also includes supply of nutritious food for children and pregnant women, awareness campaigns and setting up health camps in tribal areas. Special training will also be given to the nurses.
The project will have an integrated approach towards health care. The five-division scheme shall invite an expenditure of approximately Rs 13 crore on the State exchequer. Further, human capital and support that is necessary for the project’s success will also be taken care of by the government, the Minister informed. The project will be inaugurated by the Minister on June 26 at the Agali Kila Auditorium. Adv N Shamsudheen will preside over the function in which M B Rajesh, MP and PK Sasi, MLA will also take part.
