Assembly Adopts bill increasing retirement age of teaching hospitals doctors

The Telangana Assembly on 18th July adopted a bill seeking to increase the retirement age from 58 to 65 of doctors working in teaching hospitals in the state.

The bill replaces an ordinance issued by the government earlier. Chief Minister who piloted the bill and also the new municipal bill said that the government was taking revolutionary steps to meet the needs of the people. He said the new municipal bill was conceived to ensure uniform development of the state adding that the strength of municipalities has been increased to 142. The house also passed another bill replacing an ordinance to increase the number of gram panchayats.
