Arunachal Pradesh CM urges MCI for early operationalisatio of medical college

The Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on May 3 urged Medical Council of India for early operationalisation of the state's first medical college.
 


Khandu during a meeting with MCI President, Jayshree Mehta in New Delhi gave details of the present status of infrastructure development as well as administrative and faculty of the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Science (TRIHMS), designated as the first medical college to be of the state. He assured Mehta that all requirements as per the guidelines would be met and all deficiencies will be addressed, an official release informed.

The MCI president appreciated the chief minister and assured all help. The operationalisation of the first medical college of the state is pending since 2015. The government vacated many government offices from the old secretariat and old state assembly complex in the heart of town and also allotted 150 acres in the vicinity for future expansion of the institute. Khandu had also called on Union Health Minister J P Nadda to seek his intervention to get the academic session started at TRIHMS from the coming session, rge release added. The chief minister was accompanied by Principal Resident Commissioner Jeetendra Narayan and Health Commissioner Kaling Tayeng during the meeting, the release added.
