Apollo hospitals to inaugurate South East Asia’s first proton cancer centre in Chennai

Apollo Hospital will inaugurate 150 bedded Proton Cancer Center on January 25 in Chennai.


The Center constructed at a cost of Rs 1000 crore will be inaugurated by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on January 25, Dr Hari Prasad, President, Apollo Hospital Division told UNI on January 21. The Apollo Proton Cancer Centre is the first of its kind centre in South – East Asia, housing state of the art technology, superior infrastructure and a research facility spread across a vast 4 acres. Proton Therapy carries significant advantages over traditional radiation therapy with reduced side-effects, better precision, better quality of life during and after treatment, lesser dosage to name a few.
