Apollo Hospital hosts 10th International Clinical Nutrition Update Conference

Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan inaugurated the two-day tenth international conference on Clinical Nutrition Update, organised by Apollo Hospitals, with the theme “Enhancing Clinical Nutrition Practice” in Chennai on August 4.
A Hospital release said the annual conference serve as a knowledge exchange platform for clinical nutritionists and dieticians from around the country. All latest and advanced developments and updates in the field of Clinical Nutrition would be discussed during the two-day conference.
Over 700 delegates from across 12 countries have come together to share knowledge on best clinical practices to enhance the practical knowledge and strategies of the practitioners. This provides a forum to enrich the dietetic profession through dialogue, learning and to showcase leading-edge practice and nutrition research.
This forum addresses aspects of patient care at hospitals, hospital-based nutritional intervention and in the scientific sessions, the doctors and dietitians address medical and nutritional requirements of varied clinical conditions. The conference was aimed at highlighting the current scientific trends, Nutrition Care Process, Nutrition Focused Physical Examinations (NFPE), and Nutrition Assessment -Identifying Malnutrition.
AICNU, Organizing Chairperson, Dr. Bhuvaneshwari Shankar said, “In today’s fast paced world, Dietetics is no longer dictated by just meal planning, administration and nutritional recuperation. It is much more- addressing dynamic assessment and timely intervening to minimise complications, sepsis and reduce the average length of hospital stay.” International speakers from USA, UAE, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka addressed the sessions.
