AP govt to tackle kidney diseases in Uddanam, Srikakulam district

The Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister on May 30 said that the state government is taking all steps for the eradication of kidney diseases prevailing in Uddanam area of Srikakulam district.
Addressing a function here, he said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was keen on providing effective treatment to the people suffering from kidney ailments in the area. "The kidney problems were caused mainly due to drinking water sources in the villages. In order to solve the problem, technical Labs were being set up and arrangements were made to perform dialysis to the kidney affected people at a cost of Rs.2500 each. Such arrangement was first of its kind in the country.
The Chief Minister was allotting adequate funds for setting up of dialysis units and the problem would be solved in a phased manner" he added. Referring to rural development, he said, government had sanctioned funds for providing link roads from village to village. As a part of it Rs.10 Crore was sanctioned for Peddapuram constituency, he added.
