Admit man suffering from liver failure: HC to ILBS
IANS May 10, 2018
The Delhi High Court on May 9 asked the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) here to admit a poor man suffering from acute liver failure who is not able to bear the cost of his treatment.
Justice Rajiv Shakdher also asked the hospital, which comes under the Delhi government, to file a status report on the issue and listed the matter for July 25. The court was hearing a plea by the patient who was refused a free treatment by the hospital. The patient's counsel, advocate Ashok Agarwal, said the hospital was asking for money despite the fact that he was poor and could not afford the cost of the treatment and must be treated under the Economically Weaker Section category.
