AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbazhagan today demanded a judicial probe into the alleged irregularities in medical admission in Puducherry.
Talking to newspersons on Sunday, Anbazhagan said that the irregularities in medical admission continues and the MCI had ordered the discharge of 105 students stating that they were not in the Centac (Centralized Admission Committee) of the government list. He said a judicial probe will bring out the truth whether their admission was not in the proper channel, how much money was transferred, who is responsible for the same etc and help to initiate action in an impartial manner. He wondered why the Lt.Governor is silent in the issue.
Anbazhagan said that the Lt.Governor is making charges against the legislators that they are using public platform against the Lt. Governor and added that she should stop this. He also said that while the Lt.Governor is stating that the CBI probe in to the medical admission irregularities is on the right track, chief minister V Narayanasamy claimed that the CBI probe two days back was into the backdoor appointment of people in the government medical college by the previous NR Congress government. With this, the very purpose of the probe itself is being diverted, he charged.
Pointing out the statement of welfare minister M Kandasamy that the financial position in the UT is so serious that the government could not disburse salary for its employees for the months of January, Anbazhagan demanded that the chief minister should release a white paper on the financial position as promised in the territorial assembly. He also suggested that the government could tide over the revenue loss due to GST, if the pending tax arrears were collected properly.
