Atleast 7 medical shops were sealed on May 31 for violation of Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940, at Mendhar in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A team led by Assistant Controller Drug along with Tehsildar, Drugs Inspectors and Police conducted inspection of eighteen drug stores and initiated action against the defaulters. The erring medical shops were sealed by the team for not keeping record of sales, hygiene and keeping expired drugs. The team also collected drug samples for lab test and quality check.
