4-day national-level paediatric critical care conference inaugurated

A four-day National Level Pediatric Critical care conference, organised by the Mehta Multispecialty Hospitals, Chennai was inaugurated on May 9.


The conference was being organised in association with IAP Chennai and would continue till May 12. A hospital release said acute illness mandating ICU care was becoming common among children, hence critical care was also becoming a fast growing specialty in India. This program was being coordinated by Dr Thangavelu and Dr Sasidaran, Pediatric Intensivists from Dr Mehta’s Hospitals.

Prof Jayashree Muralidharan, Head of Pediatric Critical Care, PGI-Chandigarh, Prof Sunit Singli Director Pediatrics, Medanta Medcity, New Delhi were among the National paediatric critical care specialists who were participating in the conference, attended by over 150 doctors from all across the country.

A renal replacement therapy workshop was also organized with faculty from London to impart knowledge about this high end treatment methodology to Indian medical practitioners and trainees as part of the conference.
