UNI Sep 08, 2017
Bhopal: In the wake of 24 infants dying within a month at the Vidisha District Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) has sought a report from the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO).
The CMHO was asked why a respirator was not present within the NICU and no surgeon was available, a MPHRC release said today. A report was also solicited from Alirajpur District's CMHO regarding a nurse who "assaulted" a pregnant woman when the latter's mother-in-law woke up the attendant from her sleep at the Jobat-based Community Health Centre.
