The Bilaspur district of Himachal and native place of Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda is currently reeling with large number of cases of Dengue and Scrub Typhus in Himachal registers 22 new cases of Dengue, two Scrub tyhpus and one of Hepatitis in the state.

Talking to UNI State Communicable Disease Surveillance Officer Dr Sonam Negi said that as many as 63 patients complaint of viral fever in the state, out of which 22 found positive for Dengue. He said that with fresh cases the number of total Dengue case rose to 398. He added that so far department conducted test on 1,408 people and 229 people belonged to Bilaspur district alone, 165 cases of Dengue were declared positive in Solan and two each in Tanda and Mandi areas of Himachal Pradesh.

Mr Negi said that 53 samples were tested in the state and two case was recovered positive for scrub typhus which is as the state is also Epidemic prone for this mysterious viral fever. During this year one patients died of Scrub Typhus in Chamba as 165 cases were tested positive after conducting blood test of 3,385 people . Most of cases of Scrub Typhus came from Bilaspur district.

Shimla district leads in the number of Hp-E cases as 17 cases were found positive in this season as four cases registers in IGMC hospital and rest in other Hospitals, Mandi district recorded 15 cases of Hp-E, Kangra Eight Tanda Hospital and Solan six each, Sirmaur five ,Bilaspur and Hamirpur three each , Kullu two . Hepatitis E took claimed life of one in Shimla as patients succumbed to morbidity on March 18 this year.
