The Hindu Jan 14, 2019
In a first in India, doctors at the Sarvodaya Hospital and Research Centre (SHRC) have operated on the brain of a 19-day old infant weighing just a little over a kilogram.
Doctors who operated on the preemie removed a life-threatening blood clot that had caused a seizure. Doctors mentioned that the presence of the blood clot in such a premature baby presented as a challenging situation to them, but it had to be removed, as it could have turned fatal very quickly.
