2 hospitals & 11 'illegally-run' de-addiction centres served notices: Delhi Municipal Corporation

PTI Feb 13, 2018

The East Delhi Municipal Corporation has issued notices to 11 "illegally-run" de-addiction centres in Shahdara, the civic body said today.

Officials said notices have also been served to two hospitals in this connection. The action was taken in Shahdara (North) Zone of the EDMC by the Public Health department of the corporation on the directions of the area's Deputy Commissioner Deepak Shinde, the EDMC said in a statement. "The two hospitals were not registered with the social welfare department and therefore, notice has been served to them," Shinde was quoted as saying in the statement. He said in compliance with the orders of the Supreme Court, "these 11 illegally-run de-addiction centres will be sealed very soon".
