Lukaszyk E, et al. - Patients with early stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) were examined for zonulin levels and its possible correlation with inflammation, anemia and iron status parameters. In CKD, zonulin could not be considered as an inflammatory marker and had no role in the disturbances of iron metabolism.
