ZNF488 is an independent prognostic indicator in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and promotes cell adhesion and proliferation via collagen IV/FAK/AKT/Cyclin D1 pathway
Cancer Management and Research Jul 04, 2019
Zong D, et al. - Researchers sought to define the correlation of ZNF488 [acts as an oncogene which encourages cell invasion and endows tumor cells stem cell capacity in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC)] with clinicopathologic features and patients’ survival in NPC. This study included 158 cases of confirmed NPC. Poorer overall survival, loco-regional recurrence-free survival, distance metastasis-free survival and progression-free survival were observed among patients with high ZNF488 expression vs those with low ZNF488 group. Via collagen IV/FAK(focal adhesion kinase)/AKT/Cyclin D1 pathway, cell adhesion and proliferation were promoted by ZNF488, as an independent prognostic indicator, in NPC, in this study.
