Zirconia-incorporated zinc oxide eugenol has improved mechanical properties and cytocompatibility with human dental pulp stem cells
Dental Materials Oct 20, 2017
Jun SK, et al. - In this study, zirconia-incorporated ZOE (ZZrOE) was developed to decrease the cytotoxicity and improve the mechanical properties of zinc oxide eugenol (ZOE) with sustained therapeutic impacts on inflamed hDPSCs in terms of inflammatory gene expression levels compared with those of the original material. The enhanced mechanical properties and cytocompatibility, and also the sustained therapeutic effects on inflamed hDPSCs, were researched in ZZrOE compared with those of ZOE. Along these lines, ZZrOE has the potential to be utilized as another option to ZOE as a dental restorative material.
