Yttrium-90 radioembolization for unresectable metastatic neuroendocrine liver tumor: A systematic review
European Journal of Radiology Jan 28, 2018
Jia Z, et al. - This systematic review was performed to assess the value of yttrium-90 (90Y) microspheres in the management of unresectable liver metastases secondary to neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). With an improved survival rate and tumor response, 90Y radioembolization could be used as an alternative therapy for unresectable liver metastases of NETs. Furthermore, this treatment was effective for patients who underwent unsuccessful transarterial bland embolization (TABE)/transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) therapy and for the relief of symptoms in patients with carcinoid syndrome.
