Torre LA, et al. – The clinicians aimed to examine the worldwide burden of and trends in mortality from gallbladder and other biliary tract cancers. They found that rates of death from the gallbladder and other biliary tract cancers were decreasing in most countries but increasing in some high–income countries following decades of decline in an analysis of the World Health Organization’s Cancer Mortality Database. These emerging trends could reflect lifestyle changes, like increases in excess body weight.
