The Laryngoscope Sep 16, 2017
Tina TV, et al. - This research was planned to evaluate work-related musculoskeletal symptoms and injury among otolaryngologists across subspecialties, as well as to quantify the understanding and application of ergonomic principles in the operating room. Collected data represented that although musculoskeletal issues were prevalent among otolaryngologists, awareness of surgical ergonomics principles among otolaryngologists remains limited. Early instruction in ergonomic principles was essential as work-related musculoskeletal symptoms commonly present in residency. Moreover, symptom improvement was reported in most of the respondents after the application of ergonomic principles.
