Pak K, et al. - Researchers sought to explore the existence of a longitudinal correlation between weight loss and striatal dopaminergic degeneration in subjects with Parkinson's disease (PD). A potential connection was disclosed between striatal dopaminergic activity with body weight or impairment in energy homeostasis. Additionally, it was determined that the body weight and its change could serve as a clinical biomarker depicting striatal dopaminergic dysfunction in PD.
