Wake-up stroke and sleep-disordered breathing: A meta-analysis of current studies

Xiao Z, et al. - The intent of the authors was to investigate the performances of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) in patients with wake-up stroke (WUS). Findings unveiled that individuals with WUS illustrated a higher AHI and ODI compared to those with non-WUS. It was discovered that WUS patients appeared to have a severe SDB status which affected the respiratory effects. Data recommended early prevention and attention on potential stroke sufferers with sleep apnea syndrome (SAS), particularly those with severe SAS.
