Waiting time to surgery and pancreatic cancer survival: A nationwide population-based cohort study
European Journal of Surgical Oncology Jun 02, 2019
Kirkegård J, et al. - In a nationwide population-based cohort study, researchers examined how waiting time to surgery influences survival in pancreatic cancer patients. From the Danish Pancreatic Cancer Database, 873 patients with a mean age of 67 years (range: 35–86 years) were included. In 701 patients (80%), resection was done, and an explorative laparotomy or palliative surgery was done in the remaining 172 patients (20%). Observations revealed no correlation between waiting time to surgery and survival in these patients.
