Voxel-based magnetic resonance image postprocessing in epilepsy
Epilepsia Aug 09, 2017
Martin P, et al. – The physicians compared the ability of commonly used methods to detect epileptogenic lesions in magnetic resonance magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)–positive and MRI–negative patients, and to estimate their diagnostic yield. They revealed that all voxel–based morphometry (VBM) variants had specific diagnostic properties that needed to be considered for an adequate interpretation of the results. Overall, in presurgical diagnostics, structural postprocessing could be a useful tool, but the low specificity of some maps had to be taken into consideration.
