Rossi M, et al. - The present study aims to examine whether volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in feces associate with response to dietary interventions in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The physicians reveal that fecal VOC profiling is a low cost, non-invasive tool. To predict responses of patients with IBS to low FODMAP diet (LFD) and probiotics and identify their mechanisms of action, it can be used.
