Retina Nov 29, 2017
Schumann RG, et al. - An investigation was carried out with regard to the functional and anatomical outcomes of pars plana vitrectomy for persistent full-thickness macular hole (MH) after intravitreal injection of ocriplasmin. A substantial visual improvement was gained in eyes with persistent MH after ocriplasmin injection, following pars plana vitrectomy. The matched-pair analysis did not disclose any statistical changes in functional and anatomical postoperative results comparing with eyes of similar MH diameter that proceeded directly to surgery without ocriplasmin pretreatment.
