Visually significant cystoid macula edema after glaucoma drainage implant surgery
Journal of Glaucoma Feb 15, 2018
Bhakta AS, et al. - Authors gauged the incidence of visually notable cystoid macular edema (CME) following the glaucoma drainage implant (GDI) surgery. They also evaluated risk factors related to the development of CME and prognosis with treatment. In a real hospital scenario compared with controlled clinical trials, post-GDI surgery visually significant CME rates were possibly higher. It was determined that CME eyes responded well with diligent treatment, resolving macular edema, which also led to an effective restoration of visual acuity and central macular thickness.
