Acta Ophthalmologica May 23, 2021
Gyllencreutz E, Aring E, Landgren V, et al. - In the present study, the researchers sought to examine visual perception problems (VPPs), health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and vision-related quality of life (VRQoL) in young adults with foetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) and to compare the outcomes with healthy controls. The sample consisted of 30 young adults with FASD (13 female; mean age 23 years) and 29 controls (20 female; mean age 25 years). In the current study, young adults with FASD had higher VPPs and lower VRQoL and HRQoL than healthy controls. VPPs were reported in the FASD group both in childhood and in early adulthood.
